Related Product Information for PSD-93 blocking peptide
The postsynaptic density protein (PSD)-93 and related membrane associated guanylate kinase (MAGUK) proteins assemble signal transduction complexes at sites of cell-cell contact including synapses. PSD-93 (also designated channel associated protein of synapse-110 or chapsyn-110) occurs only at postsynaptic sites in hippocampal neurons. PSD-95 and PSD-93 mediate ion channel clustering in heterologous cells and are believed to cluster and anchor NMDA receptors at the synapse. The glutamate receptor subunit, delta2, binds specifically to PSD-93, which is enriched in Purkinje neuron cell bodies and dendrites. In addition, PSD-93 clusters delta2 when they are coexpressed and they are colocalized at parallel fiber synapses.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the membrane-associated guanylate kinase (MAGUK) family. The encoded protein forms a heterodimer with a related family member that may interact at postsynaptic sites to form a multimeric scaffold for the clustering of receptors, ion channels, and associated signaling proteins. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Additional transcript variants have been described, but their full-length nature is not known. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2008]

Uniprot Description

PSD-93: Required for perception of chronic pain through NMDA receptor signaling. Regulates surface expression of NMDA receptors in dorsal horn neurons of the spinal cord. Interacts with the cytoplasmic tail of NMDA receptor subunits as well as inward rectifying potassium channels. Involved in regulation of synaptic stability at cholinergic synapses. Part of the postsynaptic protein scaffold of excitatory synapses. Interacts through its PDZ domains with NETO1. Interacts with NOS1/nNOS through second PDZ domain. Interacts with KCNJ2/Kir2.1 (via C-terminus) through one of its PDZ domains. Interacts with FRMPD4 (via C-terminus). Interacts with LRFN1, LRFN2 and LRFN4. Interacts with FASLG. Belongs to the MAGUK family. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The PSD-93 dlg2 (Catalog #AAA3006111) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's PSD-93 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Blocking. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PSD-93 dlg2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PSD-93, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
