PODXL2 blocking peptide

PODXL2 Antibody (C-term) Blocking peptide

Gene Names
PODXL2; EG; PODLX2
Synonyms
PODXL2; PODXL2 Antibody (C-term) Blocking peptide; Podocalyxin-like protein 2; Endoglycan; PODXL2 blocking peptide
Ordering
Specificity
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody was selected from the C-term region of PODXL2. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Form/Format
Synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml DI water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Sequence Length
605
Cellular Location
Membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein
Tissue Location
Expressed in T-cells, B-cells and monocytes. Expression is higher on memory and germinal center cells than on naive B-cells (at protein level). Highly expressed in brain Moderately expressed in pancreas, kidney and lymphoid node. Weakly expressed in liver. Detected in both endothelial cells and CD34+ bone marrow cells.
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.

NCBI Description

This gene is a member of the CD34 family of cell surface transmembrane proteins, which are characterized by an N-terminal extracellular mucin domain, globular and stalk domains, a single pass transmembrane region, and a charged cytoplasmic tail. The encoded protein is a ligand for vascular selectins. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2012]

Uniprot Description

PODXL2: Acts as a ligand for vascular selectins. Mediates rapid rolling of leukocytes over vascular surfaces through high affinity divalent cation-dependent interactions with E-, P- and L- selectins. Belongs to the podocalyxin family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Cell adhesion

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 3q21.3

Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane

Molecular Function: glycosaminoglycan binding; protein binding

Biological Process: leukocyte tethering or rolling

Product Notes

The PODXL2 podxl2 (Catalog #AAA9220044) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PODXL2, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
