AIFM2 blocking peptide

AIFM2 Antibody (C-term) Blocking Peptide

Gene Names
AIFM2; AMID; PRG3
Synonyms
AIFM2; AIFM2 Antibody (C-term) Blocking Peptide; Apoptosis-inducing factor 2; 1---; Apoptosis-inducing factor homologous mitochondrion-associated inducer of death; Apoptosis-inducing factor-like mitochondrion-associated inducer of death; p53-responsive gene 3 protein; AMID; PRG3; AIFM2 blocking peptide
Ordering
Specificity
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody was selected from the C-term region of human AIFM2. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Form/Format
Synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml DI water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Sequence Length
373
Cellular Location
Cytoplasm. Mitochondrion outer membrane.
Tissue Location
Detected in most normal tissues as two transcripts of 1.8 and 4.0 kb in length, respectively. Highly expressed in heart, moderately in liver and skeletal muscles, and expressed at low levels in placenta, lung, kidney, and pancreas Both transcripts expressed following p53/TP53 induction. The shorter 1.8 kb transcript seems to be the major transcript in EB1 colon cancer cells.
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.
Related Product Information for AIFM2 blocking peptide
Oxidoreductase, which may play a role in mediating a p53/TP53-dependent apoptosis response. Probable oxidoreductase that acts as a caspase-independent mitochondrial effector of apoptotic cell death. Binds to DNA in a sequence-independent manner. May contribute to genotoxin-induced growth arrest.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a flavoprotein oxidoreductase that binds single stranded DNA and is thought to contribute to apoptosis in the presence of bacterial and viral DNA. The expression of this gene is also found to be induced by tumor suppressor protein p53 in colon cancer cells. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2010]

Uniprot Description

AIFM2: Oxidoreductase, which may play a role in mediating a p53/TP53-dependent apoptosis response. Probable oxidoreductase that acts as a caspase-independent mitochondrial effector of apoptotic cell death. Binds to DNA in a sequence-independent manner. May contribute to genotoxin-induced growth arrest. Belongs to the FAD-dependent oxidoreductase family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The AIFM2 aifm2 (Catalog #AAA9220007) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "AIFM2, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
