Human Anti immunobulin Binding Protein antibody ELISA Kit
Principle of the Assay: BIP-Ab ELISA kit applies the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate has been pre-coated with BIP antigen. Standards or samples are then added to the microtiter plate wells and anti- BIP if present, will bind to the BIP antigen pre-coated wells. In order to quantitatively determine the amount of anti- BIP present in the sample, a standardized preparation of horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated BIP antibody IgG is added to each well to "sandwich" the BIP-Ab immobilized on the plate. The microtiter plate undergoes incubation, and then the wells are thoroughly washed to remove all unbound components. Next, substrate solutions are added to each well. The enzyme (HRP) and substrate are allowed to react over a short incubation period. Only those wells that contain BIP-Ab and enzyme-conjugated antibody will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The BIP-Ab concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the heat shock protein 70 (HSP70) family. It is localized in the lumen of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER), and is involved in the folding and assembly of proteins in the ER. As this protein interacts with many ER proteins, it may play a key role in monitoring protein transport through the cell.[provided by RefSeq, Sep 2010]
Uniprot Description
GRP78: a member of the HSP family of molecular chaperones required for endoplasmic reticulum integrity and stress-induced autophagy. Plays a central role in regulating the unfolded protein response (UPR), and is an obligatory component of autophagy in mammalian cells. May play an important role in cellular adaptation and oncogenic survival. One of the client proteins of GRP78 is protein double-stranded RNA-activated protein-like endoplasmic reticulum kinase (PERK). Probably plays a role in facilitating the assembly of multimeric protein complexes inside the ER.

Product Notes
The Human BIP.Ab hspa5 (Catalog #AAA729359) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA729359 ELISA Kit recognizes Human BIP.Ab. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Anti immunobulin Binding Protein antibody, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
