APOA1 recombinant protein
Recombinant Mouse APOA1 Protein (Fc tag)
Description: A DNA sequence encoding the mouse APOA1 (Q00623) (Met 1-Gln 264) was fused with the Fc region of human IgG1 at the C-terminus.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a preproprotein that is proteolytically cleaved to yield a signal peptide and a proproptein that is subsequently processed to generate the active mature peptide. The encoded protein is the major protein component of plasma high density lipoprotein (HDL). This protein facilitates the removal of cholesterol and other fats from tissues by transporting them to the liver for excretion. This protein is a cofactor for lecithin cholesterolacyltransferase, an enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of free cholesterol to cholesteryl esters. Mutations in this gene in humans causes familial HDL deficiency, Tangier disease and familial visceral amyloidosis. Similar clinical features are exhibited by mice with mutations in this gene. This gene is clustered with three other apolipoprotein genes on chromosome 9. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2013]
Uniprot Description
APOA1: Participates in the reverse transport of cholesterol from tissues to the liver for excretion by promoting cholesterol efflux from tissues and by acting as a cofactor for the lecithin cholesterol acyltransferase (LCAT). As part of the SPAP complex, activates spermatozoa motility. Interacts with APOA1BP and CLU. Component of a sperm activating protein complex (SPAP), consisting of APOA1, an immunoglobulin heavy chain, an immunoglobulin light chain and albumin. Interacts with NDRG1. Major protein of plasma HDL, also found in chylomicrons. Synthesized in the liver and small intestine. The oxidized form at Met-110 and Met-136 is increased in individuals with increased risk for coronary artery disease, such as in carrier of the eNOSa/b genotype and exposure to cigarette smoking. It is also present in increased levels in aortic lesions relative to native ApoA-I and increased levels are seen with increasing severity of disease. Belongs to the apolipoprotein A1/A4/E family.

Product Notes
The APOA1 apoa1 (Catalog #AAA2546743) is a Recombinant Protein produced from Human Cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The secreted recombinant mouse APOA1/Fc is a disulfide-linked homodimer. The reduced monomer comprises 487 amino acids and has a calculated molecular mass of 55.8 kDa. As a result of glycosylation, the apparent molecular mass of rmAPOA1/Fc monomer is approximately 60 kDa in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the APOA1 apoa1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "APOA1, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
