Preparation and Storage
The stability of kit is determined by the loss rate of activity. The loss rate of this kit is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
To minimize extra influence on the performance, operation procedures and lab conditions, especially room temperature, air humidity, incubator temperature should be strictly controlled. It is also strongly suggested that the whole assay is performed by the same operator from the beginning to the end.

Related Product Information for ANP elisa kit
This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. A monoclonal antibody specific to Atrial Natriuretic Peptide (ANP) has been pre-coated onto a microplate. A competitive inhibition reaction is launched between biotin labeled Atrial Natriuretic Peptide (ANP) and unlabeled Atrial Natriuretic Peptide (ANP) (Standards or samples) with the pre-coated antibody specific to Atrial Natriuretic Peptide (ANP). After incubation the unbound conjugate is washed off. Next, avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. The amount of bound HRP conjugate is reverse proportional to the concentration of Atrial Natriuretic Peptide (ANP) in the sample. After addition of the substrate solution, the intensity of color developed is reverse proportional to the concentration of Atrial Natriuretic Peptide (ANP) in the sample.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the natriuretic peptide family. Natriuretic peptides are implicated in the control of extracellular fluid volume and electrolyte homeostasis. This protein is synthesized as a large precursor (containing a signal peptide), which is processed to release a peptide from the N-terminus with similarity to vasoactive peptide, cardiodilatin, and another peptide from the C-terminus with natriuretic-diuretic activity. Mutations in this gene have been associated with atrial fibrillation familial type 6. This gene is located adjacent to another member of the natriuretic family of peptides on chromosome 1. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2015]

Uniprot Description

NPPA: Hormone playing a key role in cardiovascular homeostasis through regulation of natriuresis, diuresis, and vasodilation. Also plays a role in female pregnancy by promoting trophoblast invasion and spiral artery remodeling in uterus. Specifically binds and stimulates the cGMP production of the NPR1 receptor. Binds the clearance receptor NPR3. Defects in NPPA are the cause of familial atrial fibrillation type 6 (ATFB6). Atrial fibrillation is a common disorder of cardiac rhythm that is hereditary in a small subgroup of patients. It is characterized by disorganized atrial electrical activity, progressive deterioration of atrial electromechanical function and ineffective pumping of blood into the ventricles. It can be associated with palpitations, syncope, thromboembolic stroke, and congestive heart failure. Belongs to the natriuretic peptide family.

Product Notes

The Horse ANP nppa (Catalog #AAA2033708) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2033708 ELISA Kit recognizes Horse ANP. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Atrial Natriuretic Peptide, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
