Principle of the Assay: ADCYAP1 ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a monoclonal anti-ADCYAP1 antibody and an ADCYAP1-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with ADCYAP1-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the ADCYAP1 concentration since ADCYAP1 from samples and ADCYAP1-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-ADCYAP1 antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by ADCYAP1 from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind ADCYAP1-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The ADCYAP1 concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a secreted proprotein that is further processed into multiple mature peptides. These peptides stimulate adenylate cyclase and increase cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) levels, resulting in the transcriptional activation of target genes. The products of this gene are key mediators of neuroendocrine stress responses. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2013]

Product Notes

The Bovine ADCYAP1 adcyap1 (Catalog #AAA741682) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA741682 ELISA Kit recognizes Bovine ADCYAP1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Adenylate Cyclase Activating Polypeptide 1, Pituitary, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
