1EU/ug (LAL)
Preparation and Storage
Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20 degree C. Reconstitute with sterile buffer or ddH2O. Aliquot and store at -20 degree C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
Related Product Information for CD83 active protein
CD11c antigen is expressed mainly on monocytes and in low density on granulocytes and NK cells. High levels of CD11c are expressed on tissue macrophages. It is also found on lymphoid cell lines including hairy cell leukemia. CD11c (integrin aX subunit) combines with CD18 (integrin b2 subunit) to form the integrin protein 150,95 (aXb2, CD11c/CD18). CD11c/CD18 has been reported to play an important role in cytotoxic T cell killing, and in neutrophil and monocyte adhesion to endothelium. Although its ligands in these two cases have not been identified. CD11c/CD18 is not expressed on leukocytes of patients with leukocyte adhesion deficiency. Leukocyte adhesion deficiency results from defects in the CD18 gene, leading to diminished expression of all CD18-containing integrins. CD11c antibodies bind multiple ligands including the complement fragment iC3b, CD54 (ICAM-1), fibrinogen and bacterial lippolysaccharide.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a single-pass type I membrane protein and member of the immunoglobulin superfamily of receptors. The encoded protein may be involved in the regulation of antigen presentation. A soluble form of this protein can bind to dendritic cells and inhibit their maturation. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2011]

Uniprot Description

CD83: May play a significant role in antigen presentation or the cellular interactions that follow lymphocyte activation.

Product Notes

The CD83 cd83 (Catalog #AAA637243) is an Active Protein and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. SDS-PAGE: 149 & 103kD, reducing conditions. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD83 cd83 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD11c, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
