NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the superfamily of ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters. ABC proteins transport various molecules across extra- and intracellular membranes. ABC genes are divided into seven distinct subfamilies (ABC1, MDR/TAP, MRP, ALD, OABP, GCN20, White). This protein is a member of the ABC1 subfamily. Members of the ABC1 subfamily comprise the only major ABC subfamily found exclusively in multicellular eukaryotes. This protein is widely expressed with highest detection in spleen and hematopoietic tissues. The function of this protein has not yet been determined; however, a related human protein is thought to play a role in lipid homeostasis in cells of the immune system. Uniprot Description

ABCA7: Plays a role in phagocytosis by macrophages of apoptotic cells. Binds APOA1 and may function in apolipoprotein-mediated phospholipid efflux from cells. May also mediate cholesterol efflux. May regulate cellular ceramide homeostasis during keratinocytes differentiation. Belongs to the ABC transporter superfamily. ABCA family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Transporter, ABC family; Transporter; Membrane protein, multi-pass

Cellular Component: apical plasma membrane; cell junction; cell surface; endosome; Golgi apparatus; integral to membrane; intracellular; intracellular membrane-bound organelle; membrane; phagocytic cup; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: apolipoprotein A-I receptor activity; ATP binding; ATPase activity; ATPase activity, coupled to transmembrane movement of substances; nucleotide binding; phospholipid transporter activity; protein binding; transporter activity

Product Notes

The Mouse Abca7 abca7 (Catalog #AAA2884133) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA2884133 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse Abca7. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ATP-binding cassette sub-family A member 7, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
