Total Carbohydrate Assay Kit: colorimetric provides a simple, convenient, rapid and colorimetric total carbohydrate detection method. The principle of kit is the total carbohydrates is hydrolyzed into reducing sugarsthe, and reducing sugars are heated with DNS reagents under alkaline conditions to reduce DNS to generate amino compounds, which are reddish-brown in alkaline solution and have a characteristic absorption peak at 540nm. Within a certain concentration range, the reducing sugar content has a linear relationship with the absorbance at 540nm. According to the standard curve, the total Carbohydrates content in the sample can be calculated.

Usage Notes
Do not mix the components between different batch numbers and manufacturers, otherwise, the results may be abnormal.
Avoid bubbles while mixing or redissolving components.
Change pipette tips frequently to avoid cross contamination between components.
Ensure that all components and equipment are at the proper temperature before starting the experiment.
In order to guarantee the accuracy of experimental results, need to do a pre-experiment with 1-2 samples.If the sample value is higher than the maximum standard value, please further dilute the sample with distilled water. Pay attention to multiply by the dilution factor when calculating the result.
Hydrochloric Acid and Sodium Hydroxide has certain Corrosive. DNS Reagent has certain toxicity. Please take protective measures when operating.
This kit cannot achieve 100% degradation of cellulose.
