Usage Notes
* Do not mix components from different kit lots or use reagents beyond the kit expiration date.
* Allow all reagents to warm to room temperature for at least 30 minutes before opening.
* Pre-rinse the pipet tip with reagent, use fresh pipet tips for each sample, standard and reagent to avoid contamination.
* Unused wells must be kept desiccated at 4 degree C in the sealed bag provided.
* Mix Thoroughly is very important for the result. It is recommended using low frequency oscillator or slight hand shaking every 10 minutes.
* It is recommended that all samples and standards be assayed in duplicate or triplicate.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 2-8 degree C.

Related Product Information for MAP2K5 elisa kit
Description: This Human Dual specificity mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase 5 (MAP2K5) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate MAP2K5 in samples. An antibody specific for MAP2K5 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any MAP2K5 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for MAP2K5 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of MAP2K5 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Background: Dual specificity mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase 5 is a dual specificity protein kinase that belongs to the MAP kinase kinase family. This kinase specifically interacts with and activates MAPK7/ERK5.This kinase itself can be phosphorylated and activated by MAP3K3/MEKK3, as well as by atypical protein kinase C isoforms (aPKCs). The signal cascade mediated by this kinase is involved in growth factor stimulated cell proliferation and muscle cell differentiation. Four alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene encoding distinct isoforms have been described.Expressed in many adult tissues. Abundant in heart and skeletal muscle.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a dual specificity protein kinase that belongs to the MAP kinase kinase family. This kinase specifically interacts with and activates MAPK7/ERK5. This kinase itself can be phosphorylated and activated by MAP3K3/MEKK3, as well as by atypical protein kinase C isoforms (aPKCs). The signal cascade mediated by this kinase is involved in growth factor stimulated cell proliferation and muscle cell differentiation. Three alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene encoding distinct isoforms have been described. [provided by RefSeq, May 2011]

Uniprot Description

Acts as a scaffold for the formation of a ternary MAP3K2/MAP3K3-MAP3K5-MAPK7 signaling complex. Activation of this pathway appears to play a critical role in protecting cells from stress-induced apoptosis, neuronal survival and cardiac development and angiogenesis.

Product Notes

The Human MAP2K5 map2k5 (Catalog #AAA9716344) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9716344 ELISA Kit recognizes Human MAP2K5. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Dual Specificity Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinase Kinase 5 (MAP2K5), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
