Related Product Information for AACT elisa kit
Principle of the Assay: Human Alpha1 Antichymotrypsin (AACT) ELISA Kit employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate AACT in samples. An antibody specific for Human AACT has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any AACT present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, HRP-Conjugated AACT detection antibody is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound HRP reagent, a Chromogen solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of AACT bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a plasma protease inhibitor and member of the serine protease inhibitor class. Polymorphisms in this protein appear to be tissue specific and influence protease targeting. Variations in this protein's sequence have been implicated in Alzheimer's disease, and deficiency of this protein has been associated with liver disease. Mutations have been identified in patients with Parkinson disease and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

SERPINA3: Although its physiological function is unclear, it can inhibit neutrophil cathepsin G and mast cell chymase, both of which can convert angiotensin-1 to the active angiotensin-2. Belongs to the serpin family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Secreted, signal peptide; Secreted

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 14q32.1

Cellular Component: extracellular space; extracellular region; intracellular; nucleus

Molecular Function: serine-type endopeptidase inhibitor activity; protein binding; DNA binding

Biological Process: regulation of lipid metabolic process; maintenance of gastrointestinal epithelium; acute-phase response; inflammatory response

Product Notes

The Human AACT serpina3 (Catalog #AAA9715993) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9715993 ELISA Kit recognizes Human AACT. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Alpha1 Antichymotrypsin (AACT), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
