Myelin-associated glycoprotein (Mag) Recombinant Protein | Mag recombinant protein
Recombinant Mouse Myelin-associated glycoprotein (Mag)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
Uniprot Description
MAG: Adhesion molecule in postnatal neural development that mediates sialic-acid dependent cell-cell interactions between neuronal and myelinating cells. Preferentially binds to alpha-2,3- linked sialic acid. Binds to RTN4R. Belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. SIGLEC (sialic acid binding Ig-like lectin) family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: Cell adhesion; Membrane protein, integral
Cellular Component: membrane; cytoplasm; paranode region of axon; integral to membrane; plasma membrane; myelin sheath
Molecular Function: protein binding; carbohydrate binding; protein kinase binding; receptor binding
Biological Process: negative regulation of neuron differentiation; cell adhesion; positive regulation of astrocyte differentiation

It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Myelin-associated glycoprotein (Mag), Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
