Related Product Information for anti-SSX2IP antibody
Function: Belongs to an adhesion system, which plays a role in the organization of homotypic, interneuronal and heterotypic cell-cell adherens junctions (AJs). May connect the nectin-afadin and E-cadherin-catenin system through alpha-actinin and may be involved in organization of the actin cytoskeleton at AJs through afadin and alpha-actinin (By similarity). Involved in cell movement: localizes at the leading edge of moving cells in response to PDGF and is required for the formation of the leading edge and the promotion of cell movement, possibly via activation of Rac signaling (By similarity). Acts as a centrosome maturation factor, probably by maintaining the integrity of the pericentriolar material and proper microtubule nucleation at mitotic spindle poles. The function seems to implicate at least in part WRAP73; the SSX2IP:WRAP73 complex is proposed to act as regulator of spindle anchoring at the mitotic centrosome (PubMed:23816619, PubMed:26545777). Involved in ciliogenesis (PubMed:24356449). It is required for targeted recruitment of the BBSome, CEP290, RAB8, and SSTR3 to the cilia (PubMed:24356449).

Subcellular Location: Cell junction>Adherens junction. Nucleus. Cytoplasm>Cytoskeleton>Microtubule organizing center>Centrosome>Centriolar satellite. Cytoplasm>Cytoskeleton>Cilium basal body. Note: Not found at cell-matrix AJs.

Tissue Specificity: Widely expressed, with the highest expression in brain, intermediate expression in kidney, testis, spinal cord, liver, heart, lung, skeletal muscle, ovary, fetal liver and fetal brain, and little to no expression in pancreas and spleen. All specific brain regions showed intermediate to high expression, with highest expression in amygdala. Also expressed in fetal tissues, mainly in liver and brain.

Subunit Structure: Interacts with afadin and alpha-actinin (By similarity). Interacts with VAV2 (By similarity). Interacts with SSX2 and SSX3. Does not interact with SSX1 and SSX4 (PubMed:12007189). Interacts with PCM1 (By similarity). Interacts with WRAP73 (PubMed:26545777).

Similarity: Both the N-terminal (up to position 79) and the C-terminal (from position 304) sequences are required for interaction with SSX2.Belongs to the ADIP family.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a protein that binds the cancer-testis antigen Synovial Sarcoma X breakpoint 2 protein. The encoded protein may regulate the activity of Synovial Sarcoma X breakpoint 2 protein in malignant cells. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants. A pseudogene of this gene is found on chromosome 3. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2009]

Product Notes

The SSX2IP ssx2ip (Catalog #AAA9612341) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The SSX2IP Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat Predicted Reactivity: Pig(100%), Bovine(100%), Horse(100%), Sheep(100%), Dog(100%) and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's SSX2IP can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:500-1:2000 IHC: 1:50-1:200 ELISA(peptide): 1:20,000-1:40,000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SSX2IP ssx2ip for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "SSX2IP, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
