NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The product of this gene belongs to the family of P2 receptors, which is activated by extracellular nucleotides and subdivided into P2X ligand-gated ion channels and P2Y G-protein coupled receptors. This family has several receptor subtypes with different pharmacological selectivity, which overlaps in some cases, for various adenosine and uridine nucleotides. This receptor, which is a G-protein coupled receptor, is responsive to UDP, partially responsive to UTP and ADP, and not responsive to ATP. It is proposed that this receptor mediates inflammatory responses. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants that encode different protein isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2013]
Uniprot Description
P2Y6: Receptor for extracellular UDP > UTP > ATP. The activity of this receptor is mediated by G proteins which activate a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family.

Product Notes
The P2Y6 p2ry6 (Catalog #AAA9436659) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The P2Y6 Antibody reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's P2Y6 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunocytochemistry (ICC). WB: 1:500-1:2000 IHC: 1:50-1:200 ICC: 1:50 IP: 1:10-1:50. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the P2Y6 p2ry6 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "P2Y6, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
