Related Product Information for EIF3G recombinant protein
Component of the eukaryotic translation initiation factor 3 (eIF-3) complex, which is required for several steps in the initiation of protein synthesis. The eIF-3 complex associates with the 40S ribosome and facilitates the recruitment of eIF-1, eIF-1A, eIF-2:GTP:methionyl-tRNAi and eIF-5 to form the 43S preinitiation complex (43S PIC). The eIF-3 complex stimulates mRNA recruitment to the 43S PIC and scanning of the mRNA for AUG recognition. The eIF-3 complex is also required for disassbly and recycling of post-termination ribosomal complexes and subsequently prevents prature joining of the 40S and 60S ribosomal subunits prior to initiation. This subunit can bind 18S rRNA.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a core subunit of the eukaryotic translation initiation factor 3 (eIF3) complex, which is required for initiation of protein translation. An N-terminal caspase cleavage product of the encoded protein may stimulate degradation of DNA. A mutation in this gene is associated with narcolepsy. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2016]

Uniprot Description

eIF3-delta: eukaryotic translation initiation factor 3 subunit 4. Binds to the 40S ribosome and promotes the binding of methionyl-tRNAi and mRNA. This subunit binds to the 18S rRNA. eIF-3 is composed of at least 12 different subunits. Contains 1 RNA recognition motif (RRM) domain.

Product Notes

The EIF3G eif3g (Catalog #AAA9420203) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The immunogen sequence is Full Length, 2-320aa. The Recombinant Human Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 3 subunit G reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 3 subunit G, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
