NCBI Description

DAB2IP is a Ras (MIM 190020) GTPase-activating protein (GAP) that acts as a tumor suppressor. The DAB2IP gene is inactivated by methylation in prostate and breast cancers (Yano et al., 2005 [PubMed 15386433]).[supplied by OMIM, May 2010]

Uniprot Description

DAB2IP: Functions as a Ras GTPase-activating protein. Through its interaction with MAP3K5 disrupts the association of MAP3K5 with the inhibitory 14-3-3 complex. Mediates TNF/TRAF2-induced MAP3K5-JNK activation, while it inhibits CHUK- NF-kappa-B signaling. May act as a tumor suppressor gene. A chromosomal aberration involving DAB2IP is found in a patient with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Translocation t(9;11)(q34;q23) with MLL. May give rise to a MLL-DAB2IP fusion protein lacking the PH domain. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The DAB2IP dab2ip (Catalog #AAA9411254) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The DAB2IP Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's DAB2IP can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Immunohistochemistry: 1:50-1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the DAB2IP dab2ip for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "DAB2IP, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
