Human neutral sphingomyelinase (N-SMase) activation associated factor ELISA Kit | NSMAF elisa kit

Human Protein FAN, NSMAF ELISA Kit

Gene Names
NSMAF; FAN
Reactivity
Human
Synonyms
neutral sphingomyelinase (N-SMase) activation associated factor; Human Protein FAN; NSMAF ELISA Kit; Human Protein FAN (NSMAF) ELISA kit; FAN; ; NSMAF elisa kit
Ordering
For Research Use Only!
Reactivity
Human
Specificity
No significant cross-reactivity or interference between Human NSMAF and analogues was observed.
Samples
Serum, Plasma, Tissue Homogenate, Feces and Urine
Assay Type
Sandwich
Detection Range
0.25 ng/ml - 8 ng/ml.
Sensitivity
0.1 ng/ml.
Intended Uses
This Quantitative Sandwich ELISA kit is only for in vitro research use only, not for drug, household, therapeutic applications! It is intended to be determinated NSMAF concentrations in Human serum, plasma and other body fluids. Using Purified Human NSMAF antibody to coat Microelisa Stripplate wells to make solid-phase antibody, then add NSMAF and NSMAF antibody which has been labeled with HRP to wells, then the reactants become antibody-antigen-antibody-enzyme complex, after washing completely, add TMB substrate solution, TMB substrate becomes blue color under HRP enzyme-catalyzed, reaction is terminated by the addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm. The concentration of NSMAF in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.
Intra-assay Precision
Intra-assay CV (%) is less than 15%.
Inter-assay Precision
Inter-assay CV (%) is less than 15%. [CV(%) = SD/mean ×100]
Preparation and Storage
Store all reagents at 2-8 degree C

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a WD-repeat protein that binds the cytoplasmic sphingomyelinase activation domain of the 55kD tumor necrosis factor receptor. This protein is required for TNF-mediated activation of neutral sphingomyelinase and may play a role in regulating TNF-induced cellular responses such as inflammation. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.[provided by RefSeq, Jan 2009]

Uniprot Description

NSMAF: Couples the p55 TNF-receptor (TNF-R55 / TNFR1) to neutral sphingomyelinase (N-SMASE). Specifically binds to the N- smase activation domain of TNF-R55. May regulate ceramide production by N-SMASE. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Adaptor/scaffold; Autophagy

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 8q12-q13

Cellular Component: extrinsic to membrane; cytoplasm; endomembrane system

Molecular Function: sphingomyelin phosphodiesterase activator activity; protein binding; receptor signaling protein activity; phospholipid binding

Biological Process: positive regulation of catalytic activity; positive regulation of apoptosis; ceramide metabolic process; endosome transport; signal transduction

Product Notes

The Human NSMAF nsmaf (Catalog #AAA9335966) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9335966 ELISA Kit recognizes Human NSMAF. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "neutral sphingomyelinase (N-SMase) activation associated factor, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
