Related Product Information for ENY2 blocking peptide
Involved in mRNA export coupled transcription activation by association with both the TREX-2 and the SAGA complexes. The transcription regulatory histone acetylation (HAT) complex SAGA is a multiprotein complex that activates transcription by remodeling chromatin and mediating histone acetylation and deubiquitination. Within the SAGA complex, participates in a subcomplex that specifically deubiquitinates both histones H2A and H2B. The SAGA complex is recruited to specific gene promoters by activators such as MYC, where it is required for transcription. Required for nuclear receptor-mediated transactivation. The TREX-2 complex functions in docking export-competent ribonucleoprotein particles (mRNPs) to the nuclear entrance of the nuclear pore complex (nuclear basket). TREX-2 participates in mRNA export and accurate chromatin positioning in the nucleus by tethering genes to the nuclear periphery.

Uniprot Description

ENY2: Component of the transcription regulatory histone acetylation (HAT) complex SAGA, a multiprotein complex that activates transcription by remodeling chromatin and mediating histone acetylation and deubiquitination. Within the SAGA complex, participates in a subcomplex that specifically deubiquitinates both histones H2A and H2B. The SAGA complex is recruited to specific gene promoters by activators such as MYC, where it is required for transcription. Required for nuclear receptor-mediated transactivation. May also participate in mRNA export and accurate chromatin positioning in the nucleus by tethering genes to the nuclear periphery. Belongs to the ENY2 family.

Protein type: Nuclear receptor co-regulator; Transcription, coactivator/corepressor; Ubiquitin conjugating system

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 8q23.1

Molecular Function: chromatin binding; ligand-dependent nuclear receptor transcription coactivator activity; transcription coactivator activity

Biological Process: histone deubiquitination; poly(A)+ mRNA export from nucleus; positive regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter

Product Notes

The ENY2 eny2 (Catalog #AAA9230873) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ENY2, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
