Synonyms
PTPRZ1; PTPRZ1 Blocking Peptide (N-term); Receptor-type tyrosine-protein phosphatase zeta; R-PTP-zeta; Protein-tyrosine phosphatase receptor type Z polypeptide 1; Protein-tyrosine phosphatase receptor type Z polypeptide 2; R-PTP-zeta-2; HTPZP2; PTPRZ; PTPRZ2; PTPZ; PTPRZ1 blocking peptide
Ordering
Specificity
The synthetic peptide sequence is selected from aa 446-460 of HUMAN PTPRZ1
Form/Format
Synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml DI water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Sequence Length
2315
Cellular Location
Isoform 1: Cell membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein. Secreted. Note: A secreted form is apparently generated by shedding of the extracellular domain
Tissue Location
Specifically expressed in the central nervous system, where it is localized in the Purkinje cell layer of the cerebellum, the dentate gyrus, and the subependymal layer of the anterior horn of the lateral ventricle. Developmentally regulated in the brain.
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.
Related Product Information for PTPRZ1 blocking peptide
Protein tyrosine phosphatase that negatively regulates oligodendrocyte precursor proliferation in the embryonic spinal cord. Required for normal differentiation of the precursor cells into mature, fully myelinating oligodendrocytes. May play a role in protecting oligondendrocytes against apoptosis. May play a role in the establishment of contextual memory, probably via the dephosphorylation of proteins that are part of important signaling cascades (By similarity).

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the receptor protein tyrosine phosphatase family. Expression of this gene is restricted to the central nervous system (CNS), and it may be involved in the regulation of specific developmental processes in the CNS. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, May 2011]

Uniprot Description

PTPRZ1: May be involved in the regulation of specific developmental processes in the CNS. Belongs to the protein-tyrosine phosphatase family. Receptor class 5 subfamily. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The PTPRZ1 ptprz1 (Catalog #AAA9229729) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "PTPRZ1, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
