USP6 blocking peptide

USP6 Antibody (C-term) Blocking Peptide

Gene Names
USP6; HRP1; TRE2; TRE17; Tre-2; TRESMCR; USP6-short
Synonyms
USP6; USP6 Antibody (C-term) Blocking Peptide; Ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase 6; Deubiquitinating enzyme 6; Proto-oncogene TRE-2; Ubiquitin thioesterase 6; Ubiquitin-specific-processing protease 6; HRP1; TRE2; USP6 blocking peptide
Ordering
Specificity
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody was selected from the C-term region of human USP6. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Form/Format
The synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml deionized water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Sequence Length
1406
Cellular Location
Cell membrane. Cytoplasm. Endosome. Note: Localizes to the plasma membrane and to filamentous structures within the cell corresponding to ARF6 regulated tubular endosomes. Activation of RAC1 and CDC42 can direct the relocalization of USP6 to the plasma membrane in a manner that depends on the integrity of the actin cytoskeleton
Tissue Location
Testis specific. Expressed in various cancer cell lines.
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.
Related Product Information for USP6 blocking peptide
Deubiquitinase with an ATP-independent isopeptidase activity, cleaving at the C-terminus of the ubiquitin moiety. Catalyzes its own deubiquitination. In vitro, isoform 2, but not isoform 3, shows deubiquitinating activity. Promotes plasma membrane localization of ARF6 and selectively regulates ARF6- dependent endocytic protein trafficking. Is able to initiate tumorigenesis by inducing the production of matrix metalloproteinases following NF-kappa-B activation.

Uniprot Description

USP6: Deubiquitinase with an ATP-independent isopeptidase activity, cleaving at the C-terminus of the ubiquitin moiety. A chromosomal aberration involving USP6 is a common genetic feature of aneurysmal bone cyst, a benign osseous neoplasm. Translocation t(16;17)(q22;p13) with CDH11. The translocation generates a fusion gene in which the strong CDH11 promoter is fused to the entire USP6 coding sequence, resulting in USP6 transcriptional up-regulation. Belongs to the peptidase C19 family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Oncoprotein; Ubiquitin-specific protease; Protease; EC 3.4.19.12

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 17p13

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; lysosome; plasma membrane; recycling endosome

Molecular Function: calmodulin binding; cysteine-type endopeptidase activity; nucleic acid binding; protein binding; ubiquitin-specific protease activity

Biological Process: protein deubiquitination

Product Notes

The USP6 usp6 (Catalog #AAA9224575) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "USP6, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
