DCTN4 blocking peptide

DCTN4 Antibody (N-term) Blocking peptide

Gene Names
DCTN4; P62; DYN4
Synonyms
DCTN4; DCTN4 Antibody (N-term) Blocking peptide; Dynactin subunit 4; Dyn4; Dynactin subunit p62; DCTN4 blocking peptide
Ordering
Specificity
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody was selected from the N-term region of DCTN4. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Form/Format
Synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml DI water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Sequence Length
460
Cellular Location
Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton. Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton, microtubule organizing center, centrosome. Note: In skeletal muscles, demonstrates a punctate distribution along costameres (By similarity). Has a punctate cytoplasmic distribution as well as centrosomal distribution typical of dynactin. Overexpression does not disrupt microtubule organization or the integrity of the Golgi but does cause both cytosolic and nuclear distribution, suggesting that this polypeptide may be targeted to the nucleus at very high expression levels.
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.
Related Product Information for DCTN4 blocking peptide
Could have a dual role in dynein targeting and in ACTR1A/Arp1 subunit of dynactin pointed-end capping. Could be involved in ACTR1A pointed-end binding and in additional roles in linking dynein and dynactin to the cortical cytoskeleton.

Uniprot Description

dynactin 4: Could have a dual role in dynein targeting and in ACTR1A/Arp1 subunit of dynactin pointed-end capping. Could be involved in ACTR1A pointed-end binding and in additional roles in linking dynein and dynactin to the cortical cytoskeleton. Belongs to the dynactin subunit 4 family. 3 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The DCTN4 dctn4 (Catalog #AAA9219919) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "DCTN4, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
