Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for HMGB1 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any HMGB1 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for HMGB1 is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of HMGB1 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

Uniprot Description

Function: DNA binding proteins that associates with chromatin and has the ability to bend DNA. Binds preferentially single-stranded DNA. Involved in V(D)J recombination by acting as a cofactor of the RAG complex. Acts by stimulating cleavage and RAG protein binding at the 23 bp spacer of conserved recombination signal sequences (RSS). Heparin-binding protein that has a role in the extension of neurite-type cytoplasmic processes in developing cells

Product Notes

The Pig HMGB1 hmgb1 (Catalog #AAA913688) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA913688 ELISA Kit recognizes Pig HMGB1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "high-mobility group box 1, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
