Related Product Information for PPID active protein
Background: Cyclophilin D is a member of peptidyl-propyl cis-trans isomerase (PPIase) family, which catalyzes the cis-trans isomerization of proline imidic peptide bonds in oligopeptides and accelerates the folding of proteins and thus their formation. Cyclophilin D is also a mitochondrial matrix protein, which plays a decisive role in mitochondrial permeability transition. It can bind to the immunosuppressant cyclosporine A and its overexpression suppresses the apoptosis in cancer cells.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase (PPIase) family. PPIases catalyze the cis-trans isomerization of proline imidic peptide bonds in oligopeptides and accelerate the folding of proteins. This protein has been shown to possess PPIase activity and, similar to other family members, can bind to the immunosuppressant cyclosporin A. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

PPID: PPIases accelerate the folding of proteins. It catalyzes the cis-trans isomerization of proline imidic peptide bonds in oligopeptides. Belongs to the cyclophilin-type PPIase family. PPIase D subfamily.

Protein type: Nucleolus; EC 5.2.1.8; Isomerase

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 4q31.3

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; cytoplasm; nucleolus; nucleus

Molecular Function: protein binding; peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase activity; heat shock protein binding; estrogen receptor binding; Hsp90 protein binding; Hsp70 protein binding; transcription factor binding; cyclosporin A binding

Biological Process: release of virus from host; protein transport; protein peptidyl-prolyl isomerization; positive regulation of viral genome replication; protein folding; positive regulation of protein secretion; positive regulation of apoptosis; apoptosis; protein complex assembly; negative regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter

Product Notes

The PPID ppid (Catalog #AAA844680) is an Active Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's Cyclophilin D can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, SDS-PAGE. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the PPID ppid for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: MGSSHHHHHH SSGLVPRGSH MSHPSPQAKP SNPSNPRVFF DVDIGGERVG RIVLELFADI VPKTAENFRA LCTGEKGIGH TTGKPLHFKG CPFHRIIKKF MIQGGDFSNQ NGTGGESIYG EKFEDENFHY KHDREGLLSM ANAGRNTNGS QFFITTVPTP HLDGKHVVFG QVIKGIGVAR ILENVEVKGE KPAKLCVIAE CGELKEGDDG GIFPKDGSGD SHPDFPEDAD IDLKDVDKIL LITEDLKNIG NTFFKSQNWE MAIKKYAEVL. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Cyclophilin D, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
