Related Product Information for EDNRB recombinant protein
Background: The hypermethylation of EDNRB gene was remarkably related to infiltration and metastasis of gastric cancer and may attribute to the tumor progression. EDNRB is a new candidate tumor suppressor gene which is often down-regulated or even silenced by promoter hypermethylation in various human cancers. Low EDNRB expression played a role in the progression of ACC tumors. The autosomal recessive mutation in EDNRB may underlie a part of WS1 with the current test criteria, and supported that Hirschsprung's disease is a multifactorial genetic disease which requires additional factors.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a G protein-coupled receptor which activates a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. Its ligand, endothelin, consists of a family of three potent vasoactive peptides: ET1, ET2, and ET3. Studies suggest that the multigenic disorder, Hirschsprung disease type 2, is due to mutations in the endothelin receptor type B gene. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2011]

Uniprot Description

ETB: a G protein-coupled receptor which activates a phosphatidylinoitol-calcium second messenger system. Its ligand, endothelin, consists of a family of three potent vasoactive peptides: ET1, ET2, and ET3. Studies suggest that the multigenic disorder, Hirschsprung disease type 2, is due to mutation in endothelin receptor type B gene. Essential component in the normal development of two neuronal crest-derived cell lineages. Two splice variant isoforms have been described.

Product Notes

The EDNRB ednrb (Catalog #AAA8121887) is a Recombinant Protein produced from HEK293 Cells and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The amino acid sequence is listed below: Met1-Lys10 1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Endothelin B Receptor, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
