Related Product Information for anti-NMT2 antibody
In higher eukaryotes, two isoforms of NMT have been identified (NMT1 and NMT2) which share about 76% amino acid sequence identity in humans. NMT2 (N-Myristoyltransferase 2) is a Protein Coding gene. The NMT2 gene, located on 10p13, is conserved in chimpanzee, dog, cow, mouse, rat, chicken, zebrafish, C.elegans, S.cerevisiae, K.lactis, E.gossypii, S.pombe, M.oryzae, N.crassa, and frog. This gene encodes one of two N-myristoyltransferase proteins. N-terminal myristoylation is a lipid modification that is involved in regulating the function and localization of signaling proteins. The encoded protein catalyzes the addition of a myristoyl group to the N-terminal glycine residue of many signaling proteins, including the human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) proteins, Gag and Nef. Diseases associated with NMT2 include Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1. Among its related pathways are Signaling by GPCR and Metabolism of fat-soluble vitamins.

NCBI Description

N-myristoyltransferase (NMT) catalyzes the reaction of N-terminal myristoylation of many signaling proteins. It transfers myristic acid from myristoyl coenzyme A to the amino group of a protein's N-terminal glycine residue. Biochemical evidence indicates the presence of several distinct NMTs, varying in apparent molecular weight and /or subcellular distribution. The predicted 498-amino acid of human NMT2 protein shares 77% and 96% sequence identity with human NMT1 and mouse Nmt2 comprise two distinct families of N-myristoyltransferases. Product Notes

The NMT2 nmt2 (Catalog #AAA8102073) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-NMT2 Antibody, Rabbit Polyclonal reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's NMT2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry-Paraffin (IHC-P). IHC-P: 1:200-1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the NMT2 nmt2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "NMT2, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
