Principle of the Assay||This kit was based on sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. anti-Human S100A13 antibody was pre-coated onto 96-well plates. And the biotin conjugated anti-Human S100A13 antibody was used as detection antibodies. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody were added to the wells subsequently, and wash with wash buffer. HRP-Streptavidin was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with wash buffer. TMB substrates were used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the Human S100A13 amount of sample captured in plate. Read the O.D. absorbance at 450nm in a microplate reader, and then the concentration of Human S100A13 can be calculated.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the S100 family of proteins containing 2 EF-hand calcium-binding motifs. S100 proteins are localized in the cytoplasm and/or nucleus of a wide range of cells, and involved in the regulation of a number of cellular processes such as cell cycle progression and differentiation. S100 genes include at least 13 members which are located as a cluster on chromosome 1q21. This protein is widely expressed in various types of tissues with a high expression level in thyroid gland. In smooth muscle cells, this protein co-expresses with other family members in the nucleus and in stress fibers, suggesting diverse functions in signal transduction. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

S100A13: Plays a role in the export of proteins that lack a signal peptide and are secreted by an alternative pathway. Binds two calcium ions per subunit. Binds one copper ion. Binding of one copper ion does not interfere with calcium binding. Required for the copper-dependent stress-induced export of IL1A and FGF1. The calcium-free protein binds to lipid vesicles containing phosphatidylserine, but not to vesicles containing phosphatidylcholine. Belongs to the S-100 family.

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; cytosol; extracellular space; mast cell granule; nucleus; perinuclear region of cytoplasm

Molecular Function: calcium ion binding; copper ion binding; fibroblast growth factor binding; lipid binding; protein binding; protein homodimerization activity; RAGE receptor binding; zinc ion binding

Biological Process: cytokine secretion; interleukin-1 alpha secretion; mast cell degranulation; positive regulation of cell proliferation; positive regulation of I-kappaB kinase/NF-kappaB cascade; regulation of cell shape; response to copper ion; response to electrical stimulus

Product Notes

The Human S100A13 s100a13 (Catalog #AAA763626) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA763626 ELISA Kit recognizes Human S100A13. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "S100 Calcium Binding Protein A13, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
