Related Product Information for Cyt-C elisa kit
Principle of the Assay||This kit was based on sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. anti-Rat Cyt-C antibody was pre-coated onto 96-well plates. And the biotin conjugated anti-Rat Cyt-C antibody was used as detection antibodies. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody were added to the wells subsequently, and wash with wash buffer. HRP-Streptavidin was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with wash buffer. TMB substrates were used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the Rat Cyt-C amount of sample captured in plate. Read the O.D. absorbance at 450nm in a microplate reader, and then the concentration of Rat Cyt-C can be calculated.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a small heme protein that functions as a central component of the electron transport chain in mitochondria. The encoded protein associates with the inner membrane of the mitochondrion where it accepts electrons from cytochrome b and transfers them to the cytochrome oxidase complex. This protein is also involved in initiation of apoptosis. Mutations in this gene are associated with autosomal dominant nonsyndromic thrombocytopenia. Numerous processed pseudogenes of this gene are found throughout the human genome.[provided by RefSeq, Jul 2010]

Uniprot Description

CYCS: Electron carrier protein. The oxidized form of the cytochrome c heme group can accept an electron from the heme group of the cytochrome c1 subunit of cytochrome reductase. Cytochrome c then transfers this electron to the cytochrome oxidase complex, the final protein carrier in the mitochondrial electron-transport chain. Belongs to the cytochrome c family.

Protein type: Apoptosis; Protein phosphatase, Ser/Thr (non-receptor); Oxidoreductase; Mitochondrial

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 7p15.3

Cellular Component: cytosol; mitochondrial inner membrane; mitochondrial intermembrane space; mitochondrion; nucleus; protein phosphatase type 2A complex

Molecular Function: electron transporter, transferring electrons from CoQH2-cytochrome c reductase complex and cytochrome c oxidase complex activity; heme binding; metal ion binding; protein binding; protein serine/threonine phosphatase activity

Biological Process: apoptosis; caspase activation via cytochrome c; cellular metabolic process; cellular respiration; gene expression; mitochondrial electron transport, cytochrome c to oxygen; mitochondrial electron transport, ubiquinol to cytochrome c; mitochondrion organization and biogenesis; organelle organization and biogenesis; programmed cell death; protein amino acid dephosphorylation; response to reactive oxygen species; transcription initiation from RNA polymerase II promoter

Product Notes

The Rat Cyt-C cycs (Catalog #AAA761230) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA761230 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat Cyt-C. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Cytochrome C, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
