Rabbit Cholesteryl Ester Transfer Protein ELISA Kit
Principle of the Assay: CETP ELISA kit applies the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate has been pre-coated with a monoclonal antibody specific for CETP. Standards or samples are then added to the microtiter plate wells and CETP if present, will bind to the antibody pre-coated wells. In order to quantitatively determine the amount of CETP present in the sample, a standardized preparation of horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated polyclonal antibody, specific for CETP are added to each well to "sandwich" the CETP immobilized on the plate. The microtiter plate undergoes incubation, and then the wells are thoroughly washed to remove all unbound components. Next, substrate solutions are added to each well. The enzyme (HRP) and substrate are allowed to react over a short incubation period. Only those wells that contain CETP and enzyme-conjugated antibody will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by addition of a sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The CETP concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
The protein encoded by this gene is found in plasma, where it is involved in the transfer of cholesteryl ester from high density lipoprotein (HDL) to other lipoproteins. Defects in this gene are a cause of hyperalphalipoproteinemia 1 (HALP1). Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2013]
Uniprot Description
CETP: Involved in the transfer of insoluble cholesteryl esters in the reverse transport of cholesterol. Defects in CETP are the cause of hyperalphalipoproteinemia type 1 (HALP1). Affected individuals show high levels of alpha-lipoprotein (high density lipoprotein/HDL). Belongs to the BPI/LBP/Plunc superfamily. BPI/LBP family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes
The Rabbit CETP cetp (Catalog #AAA726511) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA726511 ELISA Kit recognizes Rabbit CETP. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Cholesteryl Ester Transfer Protein, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
