Related Product Information for CETP elisa kit
Principle of the Assay: CETP ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a monoclonal anti-CETP antibody and an CETP-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with CETP-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the CETP concentration since CETP from samples and CETP-HRP conjugate compete for the anti-CETP antibody binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by CETP from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind CETP-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The CETP concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is found in plasma, where it is involved in the transfer of cholesteryl ester from high density lipoprotein (HDL) to other lipoproteins. Defects in this gene are a cause of hyperalphalipoproteinemia 1 (HALP1). Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2013]

Uniprot Description

CETP: Involved in the transfer of insoluble cholesteryl esters in the reverse transport of cholesterol. Defects in CETP are the cause of hyperalphalipoproteinemia type 1 (HALP1). Affected individuals show high levels of alpha-lipoprotein (high density lipoprotein/HDL). Belongs to the BPI/LBP/Plunc superfamily. BPI/LBP family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The Canine CETP cetp (Catalog #AAA742387) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA742387 ELISA Kit recognizes Canine CETP. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Cholesteryl Ester Transfer Protein, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
