Intended Uses: This M2A IgG2a Antibody ELISA kit is a 1.5 hour solid-phase ELISA designed for the quantitative determination of Porcine M2A IgG2a Antibody. This ELISA kit for research use only!

Principle of the Assay: M2A IgG2a Antibody ELISA kit applies the competitive enzyme immunoassay technique utilizing a M2A IgG2a antigen and an M2A IgG2a Antibody-HRP conjugate. The assay sample and buffer are incubated together with M2A IgG2a Antibody-HRP conjugate in pre-coated plate for one hour. After the incubation period, the wells are decanted and washed five times. The wells are then incubated with a substrate for HRP enzyme. The product of the enzyme-substrate reaction forms a blue colored complex. Finally, a stop solution is added to stop the reaction, which will then turn the solution yellow. The intensity of color is measured spectrophotometrically at 450nm in a microplate reader. The intensity of the color is inversely proportional to the M2A IgG2a Antibody concentration since M2A IgG2a Antibody from samples and M2A IgG2a Antibody-HRP conjugate compete for the M2A IgG2a antigen binding site. Since the number of sites is limited, as more sites are occupied by M2A IgG2a Antibody from the sample, fewer sites are left to bind M2A IgG2a Antibody-HRP conjugate. A standard curve is plotted relating the intensity of the color (O.D.) to the concentration of standards. The M2A IgG2a Antibody concentration in each sample is interpolated from this standard curve.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the P-type lectin family. P-type lectins play a critical role in lysosome function through the specific transport of mannose-6-phosphate-containing acid hydrolases from the Golgi complex to lysosomes. The encoded protein functions as a homodimer and requires divalent cations for ligand binding. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. A pseudogene of this gene is located on the long arm of chromosome X. [provided by RefSeq, May 2011]

Uniprot Description

M6PR: Transport of phosphorylated lysosomal enzymes from the Golgi complex and the cell surface to lysosomes. Lysosomal enzymes bearing phosphomannosyl residues bind specifically to mannose-6- phosphate receptors in the Golgi apparatus and the resulting receptor-ligand complex is transported to an acidic prelyosomal compartment where the low pH mediates the dissociation of the complex.

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 12p13

Cellular Component: membrane; integral to plasma membrane; perinuclear region of cytoplasm; lysosomal membrane; late endosome; endosome

Molecular Function: mannose transmembrane transporter activity; mannose binding; transmembrane receptor activity

Product Notes

The Mouse M6PR m6pr (Catalog #AAA7215114) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA7215114 ELISA Kit recognizes Mouse M6PR. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Cation-dependent mannose-6-phosphate receptor (M6PR), ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
