Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the quantitative sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for CD20 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any CD20 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conjugated antibody specific for CD20 is added to the wells. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of CD20 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the membrane-spanning 4A gene family. Members of this nascent protein family are characterized by common structural features and similar intron/exon splice boundaries and display unique expression patterns among hematopoietic cells and nonlymphoid tissues. This gene encodes a B-lymphocyte surface molecule which plays a role in the development and differentiation of B-cells into plasma cells. This family member is localized to 11q12, among a cluster of family members. Alternative splicing of this gene results in two transcript variants which encode the same protein. Uniprot Description

Function: This protein may be involved in the regulation of B-cell activation and proliferation.

Product Notes

The Human MS4A1 ms4a1 (Catalog #AAA704400) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA704400 ELISA Kit recognizes Human MS4A1. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "membrane-spanning 4-domains, subfamily A, member 1, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
