Research Application(s): ELISA Detection: BVD6-24G2 monoclonal antibody is useful as a detection antibody in a sandwich ELISA for quantifying mouse IL-4 protein levels.3-5 Biotinylated BVD6-24G2 antibody should be paired with purified BVD4-1D11 antibody as the capture antibody, with purified recombinant mouse IL-4 as the standard.
Since applications vary, each investigator should determine the optimal concentration appropriate for individual applications.

Characterization
To ensure acceptable performance, each batch of product is tested in a sandwich ELISA to conform to characteristics of a standard reference reagent.
Preparation and Storage
The purified (UNLB) antibody is supplied as 0.5 mg purified immunoglobulin in 1.0 mL of 100 mM borate buffered saline, pH 8.2. No preservatives or amine-containing buffer salts added. Store at 2- 8 degree C.
The biotin (BIOT) conjugate is supplied as 0.5 mg labeled antibody in 1.0 mL of PBS/NaN3. Store at 2-8 degree C.
Reagents are stable for the period shown on the label if stored as directed.

Function: Participates in at least several B-cell activation processes as well as of other cell types. It is a costimulator of DNA-synthesis. It induces the expression of class II MHC molecules on resting B-cells. It enhances both secretion and cell surface expression of IgE and IgG1. It also regulates the expression of the low affinity Fc receptor for IgE (CD23) on both lymphocytes and monocytes.
