Rabbit anti-Human MMP12 Polyclonal Antibody | anti-MMP12 antibody
MMP12, CT (Macrophage Metalloelastase, MME, Matrix Metalloproteinase-12, MMP-12, Macrophage Elastase, ME, hME, HME) (FITC)
FLISA: 1:1,000
WB: 1:100-1:500
Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.
Western Blot (WB)
(Western blot analysis of anti-hMMP12-R406 Pab pre-incubated without(lane 1) and with(lane 2) blocking peptide in 293 cell line lysate. MMP12(arrow) was detected using the purified Pab;)
Western Blot (WB)
(Western blot analysis of anti-hMMP12-R406 Pab pre-incubated without(lane 1) and with(lane 2) blocking peptide in mouse kidney tissue lysates. MMP12(arrow) was detected using the purified Pab.)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
(Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human breast carcinoma tissue reacted with MMP12 antibody (C-term), which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated.)
Immunofluorescence (IF)
(Confocal immunofluorescent analysis of MMP12 Antibody (C-term) with 293 cell followed by Alexa Fluor 488-conjugated goat anti-rabbit lgG (green). DAPI was used to stain the cell nuclear (blue).)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
Proteins of the matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) family are involved in the breakdown of extracellular matrix in normal physiological processes, such as embryonic development, reproduction, and tissue remodeling, as well as in disease processes, such as arthritis and metastasis. Most MMP's are secreted as inactive proproteins which are activated when cleaved by extracellular proteinases. It is thought that the protein encoded by this gene is cleaved at both ends to yield the active enzyme, but this processing has not been fully described. The enzyme degrades soluble and insoluble elastin. It may play a role in aneurysm formation and studies in mice suggest a role in the development of emphysema. The gene is part of a cluster of MMP genes which localize to chromosome 11q22.3. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
MMP12: May be involved in tissue injury and remodeling. Has significant elastolytic activity. Can accept large and small amino acids at the P1' site, but has a preference for leucine. Aromatic or hydrophobic residues are preferred at the P1 site, with small hydrophobic residues (preferably alanine) occupying P3. Belongs to the peptidase M10A family.

Product Notes
The MMP12 mmp12 (Catalog #AAA6487065) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The MMP12, CT (Macrophage Metalloelastase, MME, Matrix Metalloproteinase-12, MMP-12, Macrophage Elastase, ME, hME, HME) (FITC) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's MMP12 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), FLISA, Western Blot (WB). IHC: 1:50-1:100 FLISA: 1:1,000 WB: 1:100-1:500 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MMP12 mmp12 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MMP12, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
