Western Blot (WB)
(Western blot analysis of mouse kidney tissue lysates (35ug/lane) usingMBS644692. GJA8 (arrow) was detected usingMBS644692.)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
(Immunohistochemistry analysis in formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human cancer tissue usingMBS644692, followed by secondary antibody DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of MBS644692 for immunohistochemistry.)
NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a transmembrane connexin protein that is necessary for lens growth and maturation of lens fiber cells. The encoded protein is a component of gap junction channels and functions in a calcium and pH-dependent manner. Mutations in this gene have been associated with zonular pulverulent cataracts, nuclear progressive cataracts, and cataract-microcornea syndrome. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2009]

Product Notes
The Cx50 gja8 (Catalog #AAA6470228) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Connexin 50, CT (Gap Junction alpha-8 Protein, GJA8, Connexin-50, Cx50, Lens Fiber Protein MP70) (MaxLight 490) reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Connexin 50 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin, FLISA, Western Blot (WB). Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Cx50 gja8 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Connexin 50, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
