Preparation and Storage
May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

PLK, a Polo type protein kinase, has been shown to function in mitosis. The mRNA is absent or expressed at very low levels during the G1 phase, begins to reaccumulate during the S phase, and reaches maximal levels during the G2/M phase. PLK1 may participate in targeting MPF to the nucleus during prophase and in regulating mitotic spindle function.
