NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a helix-loop-helix (HLH) protein that can form heterodimers with other HLH proteins. However, the encoded protein lacks a basic DNA-binding domain and therefore inhibits the DNA binding of any HLH protein with which it interacts. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]

Uniprot Description

ID3: ID (inhibitor of DNA binding) HLH proteins lack a basic DNA-binding domain but are able to form heterodimers with other HLH proteins, thereby inhibiting DNA binding. ID-3 inhibits the binding of E2A-containing protein complexes to muscle creatine kinase E-box enhancer. May inhibit other transcription factors. Induced by phorbol 12-myristate 13-acetate (PMA). Interacts with COPS5 and COPS7A. Homodimer, and heterodimer with other HLH proteins.

Product Notes

The ID3 id3 (Catalog #AAA6309136) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The ID3, NT (ID3, 1R21, BHLHB25, HEIR1, DNA-binding protein inhibitor ID-3, Class B basic helix-loop-helix protein 25, Helix-loop-helix protein HEIR-1, ID-like protein inhibitor HLH 1R21, Inhibitor of DNA binding 3) (Biotin) reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's ID3 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA). WB: 1:100-500 ELISA: 1:1,000 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ID3 id3 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "ID3, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
