NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes a member of the aldo/keto reductase superfamily, which consists of more than 40 known enzymes and proteins. This member can efficiently reduce aliphatic and aromatic aldehydes, and it is less active on hexoses. It is highly expressed in adrenal gland, small intestine, and colon, and may play an important role in liver carcinogenesis. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
AKR1B10: Acts as all-trans-retinaldehyde reductase. Can efficiently reduce aliphatic and aromatic aldehydes, and is less active on hexoses (in vitro). May be responsible for detoxification of reactive aldehydes in the digested food before the nutrients are passed on to other organs. Belongs to the aldo/keto reductase family.

Product Notes
The AKR1B10 akr1b10 (Catalog #AAA6129940) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AKR1B10 (Aldo-keto Reductase Family 1 Member B10, ARL-1, Aldose Reductase-like, Aldose Reductase-related Protein, ARP, hARP, Small Intestine Reductase, SI Reductase, AKR1B11) (AP) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's AKR1B10 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Western Blot (WB). Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the AKR1B10 akr1b10 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "AKR1B10, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
