Cks1; Polyclonal Antibody; CT (Cdc kinase subunit 1); Anti -Cks1; anti-CKS1B antibody
Ordering
For Research Use Only!
Host
Rabbit
Reactivity
Human
Clonality
Polyclonal
Specificity
Recognizes human Cks1 protein at ~11kD. Bands of unknown origin at ~20, 30 and 100kD are also observed. Reactivity: HeLa cell lysates by Western blotting, immunofluorescence and immunoprecipitation, and with non-small cell lung carcinoma tissue by immunohistochemistry. Western blotting with purified Cks1 and Cks2 proteins was used to confirm that this antibody does not cross-react with Cks2. Cross-reactivity with mouse is expected based upon amino acid sequence homology.

Immunohistochemistry: 2.5ug/ml
Note: For immunohistochemistry with formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues, Heat Induced Epotope Retrieval (HIER) with citrate buffer, pH 6.0, is recommended.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide derived from the C-terminal region of human and mouse Cks1.
Preparation and Storage
May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
Related Product Information for anti-CKS1B antibody
Cks (Cdc kinase subunit) proteins are members of the cyclin-dependent kinase (cdk) family that act as adaptors to allow the cdks to interact more efficiently with their molecular targets. Cks1 is involved in the regulation of cell cycle mitosis in normal and cancer cells. Cks1 promotes mitosis by modulating the transcriptional activation of the APC/C protein-ubiquitin ligase activator Cdc20. Cks1 has also been established as an essential cofactor in the ubiquitylation of Cdk inhibitor p27 by Skp2 ubiquitin ligase. Mammalian Cks1 binds to Skp2 and promotes the association of Skp2 with phosphorylated p27 (Thr187), which further induces ubiquitylation of p27. High expression of Cks1 may be involved in the pathogenesis of human non-small cell lung carcinoma.

NCBI Description

CKS1B protein binds to the catalytic subunit of the cyclin dependent kinases and is essential for their biological function. The CKS1B mRNA is found to be expressed in different patterns through the cell cycle in HeLa cells, which reflects a specialized role for the encoded protein. At least two transcript variants have been identified for this gene, and it appears that only one of them encodes a protein. [provided by RefSeq]

Uniprot Description

CKS1: Binds to the catalytic subunit of the cyclin dependent kinases and is essential for their biological function. Belongs to the CKS family.

Protein type: Protein kinase, regulatory subunit; Cell cycle regulation

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 1q21.2

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm

Molecular Function: protein binding; cyclin-dependent protein kinase regulator activity

Biological Process: cell proliferation; cell division; regulation of cyclin-dependent protein kinase activity; mitotic cell cycle; G1/S transition of mitotic cell cycle

Product Notes

The CKS1B cks1b (Catalog #AAA612642) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Cks1, CT (Cdc kinase subunit 1) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Cks1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF). Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunofluorescence, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry. Dilution: ELISA: 0.1-1ug/ml Western Blot: 1-3ug/ml Immunofluorescence: 10ug/ml Immunoprecipitation: 7ug/IP reaction Immunohistochemistry: 2.5ug/ml Note: For immunohistochemistry with formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues, Heat Induced Epotope Retrieval (HIER) with citrate buffer, pH 6.0, is recommended. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CKS1B cks1b for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Cks1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
