Related Product Information for anti-TRPC5 antibody
It has been demonstrated that TrpC1 and TrpC5 are subunits of a heteromeric neuronal channel in mammalian brain. TrpC5 is thought to form a receptor-activatd non-selective permeant cation channel. It is probably operated by a phosphatidylinositol second messenger system activated by receptor kinases or G-protein coupled receptors. It has also been shown to be calcium-selective and it may be also activated by intracellular calcium store depletion. TrpC5 protein was shown to be present in hippocampal neuronal growth cones, neuronal cell bodies, areas consistent with new synapse formation, and cytoplasmic transport vesicles along neuronal processes. TrpC5 is expressed in brain with higher levels in fetal brain. Influxes of calcium via voltage-gated channels play a role in neuronal outgrowth and it was suggested that TrpC5 is a candidate for the regulation of calcium waves.

NCBI Description

This gene belongs to the transient receptor family. It encodes one of the seven mammalian TRPC (transient receptor potential channel) proteins. The encoded protein is a multi-pass membrane protein and is thought to form a receptor-activated non-selective calcium permeant cation channel. The protein is active alone or as a heteromultimeric assembly with TRPC1, TRPC3, and TRPC4. It also interacts with multiple proteins including calmodulin, CABP1, enkurin, Na(+)-H+ exchange regulatory factor (NHERF ), interferon-induced GTP-binding protein (MX1), ring finger protein 24 (RNF24), and SEC14 domain and spectrin repeat-containing protein 1 (SESTD1). Uniprot Description

TRPC5: Thought to form a receptor-activated non-selective calcium permeant cation channel. Probably is operated by a phosphatidylinositol second messenger system activated by receptor tyrosine kinases or G-protein coupled receptors. Has also been shown to be calcium-selective. May also be activated by intracellular calcium store depletion. Belongs to the transient receptor (TC 1.A.4) family. STrpC subfamily. TRPC5 sub-subfamily.

Product Notes

The TRPC5 trpc5 (Catalog #AAA605426) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The TrpC5 (Short transient receptor potential channel 5, Htrp-5, Htrp5, TRPC5, TRP5) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's TrpC5 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB). Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TRPC5 trpc5 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "TrpC5, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
