Mouse anti-Human CD166 Monoclonal Antibody | anti-CD166 antibody
CD166, Human, mAb AZN-L50
For unit size 0.5 mg or larger: PBS only (concentration< 0.5mg/ml)
Application Use: For immunohistology, flow cytometry and Western blotting, dilutions to be used depend on detection system applied. It is recommended that users test the reagent and determine their own optimal dilutions. The typical starting working dilution is 1:50. For functional studies, in vitro dilutions have to be optimized in user’s experimental setting.
ALCAM is secreted as a NH2-terminal fragment of 30 kD. Soluble ALCAM (sALCAM) induces divergent biological signals and responses.
ALCAM shows a characteristic, temporal and spatial distribution in development of a wide variety of tissues and cells in health and disease. ALCAM is expressed on a wide variety of cells, within the leukocyte population its expression is particularly high on dentritic cells. ALCAM is involved in various physiological processes including hematopoieses, thymus development, the immune response, neurite extension, neural cell migration, embryogenesis, neurogenesis, angiogenesis, osteogenesis and is a marker for pluripotent mesenchymal stem cells.
The monoclonal antibody AZN-L50 completely blocks homophilic ALCAM-ALCAM interaction.

NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes activated leukocyte cell adhesion molecule (ALCAM), also known as CD166 (cluster of differentiation 166), which is a member of a subfamily of immunoglobulin receptors with five immunoglobulin-like domains (VVC2C2C2) in the extracellular domain. This protein binds to T-cell differentiation antigene CD6, and is implicated in the processes of cell adhesion and migration. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011]
Uniprot Description
ALCAM: Cell adhesion molecule that binds to CD6. Involved in neurite extension by neurons via heterophilic and homophilic interactions. May play a role in the binding of T- and B-cells to activated leukocytes, as well as in interactions between cells of the nervous system. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
Protein type: Cell adhesion; Membrane protein, integral
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 3q13.1
Cellular Component: focal adhesion; cell soma; axon; integral to membrane; external side of plasma membrane
Molecular Function: protein binding; receptor binding

Product Notes
The CD166 alcam (Catalog #AAA584070) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The CD166, Human, mAb AZN-L50 reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's CD166 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, F, Flow Cytometry (FC), FS, Immunoflurescence (IF), Immunoprecipitation (IP), P, Western Blot (WB). Application Notes: IHC-F:- Tissue sections were fixed in acetone Application Use: For immunohistology, flow cytometry and Western blotting, dilutions to be used depend on detection system applied. It is recommended that users test the reagent and determine their own optimal dilutions. The typical starting working dilution is 1:50. For functional studies, in vitro dilutions have to be optimized in user’s experimental setting. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the CD166 alcam for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "CD166, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
