NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
This gene encodes the alpha chain of type XIX collagen, a member of the FACIT collagen family (fibril-associated collagens with interrupted helices). Although the function of this collagen is not known, other members of this collagen family are found in association with fibril-forming collagens such as type I and II, and serve to maintain the integrity of the extracellular matrix. The transcript produced from this gene has an unusually large 3' UTR which has not been completely sequenced. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
Uniprot Description
COL19A1: May act as a cross-bridge between fibrils and other extracellular matrix molecules. Involved in skeletal myogenesis in the developing esophagus. May play a role in organization of the pericellular matrix or the sphinteric smooth muscle. Belongs to the fibril-associated collagens with interrupted helices (FACIT) family.

The COL19A1 col19a1 (Catalog #AAA6287617) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The COL19A1, NT (COL19A1, Collagen alpha-1(XIX) chain, Collagen alpha-1(Y) chain) (FITC) reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's COL19A1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), FLISA. WB: 1:100-500 FLISA: 1:1,000 Applications are based on unconjugated antibody. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the COL19A1 col19a1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "COL19A1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
