Rabbit beta-2 glycoprotein 1 Polyclonal Antibody | anti-APOH antibody

Rabbit anti Human beta-2 glycoprotein 1

Gene Names
APOH; BG; B2G1; B2GP1
Reactivity
Inter-species cross-reactivity is a normal feature of antibodies to plasma proteins, since homologous proteins of different species frequently share antigenic determinants. Cross-reactivity of this antiserum has not been tested in detail.
Applications
Immunoprecipitation
Synonyms
beta-2 glycoprotein 1; Polyclonal Antibody; Rabbit anti Human beta-2 glycoprotein 1; anti-APOH antibody
Ordering
For Research Use Only!
Host
Rabbit
Reactivity
Inter-species cross-reactivity is a normal feature of antibodies to plasma proteins, since homologous proteins of different species frequently share antigenic determinants. Cross-reactivity of this antiserum has not been tested in detail.
Clonality
Polyclonal
Specificity
In bidimensional immunoelectrophoresis a single precipitin line is obtained and shows a reaction of full identity with the purified immunogen. The antiserum does not react with any other protein component of human serum or plasma.
Form/Format
Delipidated, heat inactivated, lyophilized, stable whole serum.
Applicable Applications for anti-APOH antibody
Immunoprecipitation (IP)
Biological origin
Rabbit
Preservative
No preservative added.
Immunogen
Beta-2 glycoprotein 1 has a molecular weight of 40,000. The mean concentration in adult serum is about 200 I-1g/ml. Freund's complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.
Adsorption
Immunoaffinity adsorbed using insolubilized antigens as required, to eliminate antibodies reacting with other human serum proteins. The use of insolubilized adsorption antigens prevents the presence of excess adsorbent protein or immune complexes in the antiserum.
Protein concentration
Total protein and IgG concentrations in the antiserum are comparable to those of normal pooled rabbit serum. No foreign proteins added.
Antibody titre
Measured by quantitative precipitin analysis. The amount of beta2 glycoprotein 1 precipitated by 1ml antiserum is approximately 0.2 mg. Precipitin titre not less than 1:64 when tested against normal human serum in agar-block immunodiffusion titration.
Directions for use
In immunoelectrophoresis use 2 1-11 human plasma or equivalent against 120 1-11 antiserum. In double radial immunodiffusion use a rosette arrangement with 10 ul antiserum in 3 mm diameter center well and 2 ul plasma samples (neat and serially diluted) in 2 mm diameter peripheral wells. In electroimmunodiffusion use 1 percent antiserum in the gel.
Preparation and Storage
Storage / shelf life :
Lyophilized at +4 degree C = at least 10 years
reconstituted at or below -20 degree C = 3-5 years
reconstituted at +4 degree C = 7 days

Handling: The lyophilized antiserum is shipped at ambient temperature and may be stored at +4 degree C; prolonged
storage at or below -20 degree C . Reconstitute the lyophilized antiserum by adding 1 ml sterile distilled water. Dilutions may be prepared by adding phosphate buffered saline (PBS, pH 7.2). Repeated thawing and freezing should be avoided. If a slight precipitation occurs upon storage, this should be removed by centrifugation. It will not affect the performance of the antiserum. Diluted antiserum should be stored at +4 degree C, not refrozen, and preferably used the same day.

Caution: This antiserum should be handled by qualified persons only and appropriate precautions should be taken in its handling and disposal, and of all associated materials. For in vitro research purposes only.
Related Product Information for anti-APOH antibody
In precipitating techniques as immunoelectrophoresis and single and double radial immunodiffusion (Mancini, Ouchterlony) and electroimmunodiffusion (Laurell) to identify the presence of beta-2 glycoprotein 1 or to determine its concentration. The presence of non-precipitating antibodies has not been assayed. This does not exclude the use of the antiserum in non-precipitating antibody-binding techniques as ELISA and Western blotting if proper controls are included.

NCBI Description

Apolipoprotein H has been implicated in a variety of physiologic pathways including lipoprotein metabolism, coagulation, and the production of antiphospholipid autoantibodies. APOH may be a required cofactor for anionic phospholipid binding by the antiphospholipid autoantibodies found in sera of many patients with lupus and primary antiphospholipid syndrome, but it does not seem to be required for the reactivity of antiphospholipid autoantibodies associated with infections. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

Product Notes

The APOH apoh (Catalog #AAA573737) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Rabbit anti Human beta-2 glycoprotein 1 reacts with Inter-species cross-reactivity is a normal feature of antibodies to plasma proteins, since homologous proteins of different species frequently share antigenic determinants. Cross-reactivity of this antiserum has not been tested in detail. and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's beta-2 glycoprotein 1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Immunoprecipitation (IP). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the APOH apoh for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "beta-2 glycoprotein 1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
