Method Of Purification
Monkey IgM (whole molecule) was purified by delipidation, salt fractionation and ion exchange chromatography.
Biological Significance
Immunoglobulin M, or IgM for short, is a basic antibody that is produced by B cells. It is the primary antibody against A and B antigens on red blood cells. IgM is by far the physically largest antibody in the human circulatory system. It is the first antibody to appear in response to initial exposure to antigen.

This product contains sodium azide as preservative. Although the amount of sodium azide is very small appropriate care must be taken when handling this product.
Preparation and Storage
Store at 4°C prior to opening. The product is stable at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. For long term storage, mix with an equal volume of glycerol, aliquot, and store at -20° C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaws.
