Biological Significance
Calcineurin (CN) is a protein phosphatase also known as protein phosphatase 3, PPP3CA, and formerly known as protein phosphatase 2B (PP2B). It activates the T cells of the immune system and can be blocked by drugs. Calcineurin activates NFATc (Nuclear Factor of Activated T cell, cytoplasmic), a transcription factor, by dephosphorylating it. The activated NFATc is then translocated into the nucleus, where it upregulates the expression of interleukin 2 (IL-2), which, in turn, stimulates the growth and differentiation of T cell response. Calcineurin is the target of a class of drugs called calcineurin inhibitors, which includes ciclosporin, pimecrolimus and tacrolimus.
Cross-Reactivity
Human, mouse, rat
Immunogen
Calcineurin B antibody was raised in mouse using E Coli-derived recombinant human calcineurin B as the immunogen.
Preparation and Storage
Store at -20 degree C until reconstitution. Following reconstitution product may be stored at 4 degree C in the short term. For long term storage aliquot and freeze at -20 degree C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Product Notes

The Calcineurin B ppp3r1 (Catalog #AAA531795) is an Antibody produced from Mouse and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Calcineurin B antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Calcineurin B can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB). WB: 0.5 ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Calcineurin B ppp3r1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Calcineurin B, Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
