Pneum degree Cystis is commonly found in the lungs of healthy people, but being a source ofopportunistic infection it can cause a lung infection in people with a weak immune system.Pneum degree Cystis pneumonia is especially seen in people with cancer, HIV/AIDS and the use ofmedications that affect the immune system.
The older name Pneum degree Cystis carinii, (which now only applies to the Pneum degree Cystis variant that degree Ccurs in animals), is still in common usage. As a result, Pneum degree Cystis pneumonia (PCP) is alsoknown as Pneum degree Cystis jiroveci[i] pneumonia and (incorrectly) as Pneum degree Cystis cariniipneumonia.
Regarding nomenclature, when the name of Pneum degree Cystis pneumonia changed from P. cariniipneumonia to P. jirovecii pneumonia, it was at first felt that it could no longer be referred to as"PCP." However, because the term PCP was already in common usage, it was rationalized thatthe term PCP could continue to be used, as it stood for Pneum degree Cystis (jirovecii) Pneumonia.

The Anti-Pneumocystis jirovecii (or P. carinii) monoclonal Antibody reacts with Pneumocystis jirovecii and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Pneumocystis jirovecii (or P. carinii) can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF). IF: 1:100-500. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Pneumocystis jirovecii (or P. carinii) for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Pneumocystis jirovecii (or P. carinii), Monoclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
