Uniprot Description

SCN10A: This protein mediates the voltage-dependent sodium ion permeability of excitable membranes. Assuming opened or closed conformations in response to the voltage difference across the membrane, the protein forms a sodium-selective channel through which sodium ions may pass in accordance with their electrochemical gradient. It is a tetrodotoxin-resistant sodium channel isoform. Its electrophysiological properties vary depending on the type of the associated beta subunits (in vitro). Plays a role in neuropathic pain mechanisms. Belongs to the sodium channel (TC 1.A.1.10) family. Nav1.8/SCN10A subfamily.

Protein type: Membrane protein, integral; Channel, sodium; Membrane protein, multi-pass

Cellular Component: axon; integral to membrane; membrane; plasma membrane; voltage-gated sodium channel complex

Product Notes

The Scn10a scn10a (Catalog #AAA427715) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Scn10a / Nav1.8 Immunizing Peptide reacts with Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. The amino acid sequence is listed below: C-DDNRSLQS DPYNQR. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Scn10a / Nav1.8, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
