NCBI Description

The protein encoded by this gene is a transcriptional regulator and oncoprotein that may be involved in hematopoiesis, apoptosis, development, and cell differentiation and proliferation. The encoded protein can interact with CTBP1, SMAD3, CREBBP, KAT2B, MAPK8, and MAPK9. This gene can undergo translocation with the AML1 gene, resulting in overexpression of this gene and the onset of leukemia. Several transcript variants encoding a few different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2011]

Uniprot Description

MDS1: A chromosomal aberration involving MDS1 is found in a form of acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Translocation t(3;21) with AML1. 6 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative promoter.

Product Notes

The MECOM mecom (Catalog #AAA427233) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The EVI1 / AML1 Immunizing Peptide reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. The amino acid sequence is listed below: C-DKESLHST SH. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "EVI1 / AML1, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
