NCBI Description

Netrin is included in a family of laminin-related secreted proteins. The function of this gene has not yet been defined; however, netrin is thought to be involved in axon guidance and cell migration during development. Mutations and loss of expression of netrin suggest that variation in netrin may be involved in cancer development. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

NTN1: Netrins control guidance of CNS commissural axons and peripheral motor axons. Its association with either DCC or some UNC5 receptors will lead to axon attraction or repulsion, respectively. It also serve as a survival factor via its association with its receptors which prevent the initiation of apoptosis. Involved in tumorigenesis by regulating apoptosis.

Product Notes

The NTN1 ntn1 (Catalog #AAA426211) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Netrin 1 Immunizing Peptide reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat, Dog, Cow and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. The amino acid sequence is listed below: KFQQREKKGK CKKA. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Netrin 1, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
