Uniprot Description

OGG1: DNA repair enzyme that incises DNA at 8-oxoG residues. Excises 7,8-dihydro-8-oxoguanine and 2,6-diamino-4-hydroxy-5-N- methylformamidopyrimidine (FAPY) from damaged DNA. Has a beta- lyase activity that nicks DNA 3' to the lesion. Defects in OGG1 may be a cause of renal cell carcinoma (RCC). It is a heterogeneous group of sporadic or hereditary carcinoma derived from cells of the proximal renal tubular epithelium. It is subclassified into clear cell renal carcinoma (non-papillary carcinoma), papillary renal cell carcinoma, chromophobe renal cell carcinoma, collecting duct carcinoma with medullary carcinoma of the kidney, and unclassified renal cell carcinoma. Belongs to the type-1 OGG1 family. 8 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Product Notes

The OGG1 ogg1 (Catalog #AAA420013) is an Antibody produced from Goat and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Goat anti-Ogg1 (mouse) Antibody reacts with Tested: Rat; Expected from sequence similarity: Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. AAA Biotech's Ogg1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Peptide ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB). Peptide ELISA: Antibody detection limit dilution 1: 128000. Western Blot: Approx 37kDa band observed in Rat Spleen lysates (calculated MW of 38.7kDa according to Rat NP_110497.1 and 38.8kDa according to Mouse NP_035087.2). Recommended concentration: 0.1-0.3ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the OGG1 ogg1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The amino acid sequence is listed below: HPKTSQAKGP SPLANK. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Ogg1, Polyclonal Antibody" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
